Bernadette O’Connor

Bernadette O’Connor, the principal of Thrive, is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and an Individual, Couple and Family Therapist with a Bachelor degree in Social Work from Western Sydney University and a Masters degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of New South Wales. Bernadette has guest lectured at Western Sydney University and ACAP teaching Family Therapy skills to post-graduate psychology students.

Bernadette has over 20 years experience working with children and families in fields such as drug and alcohol, NSW Health for the Women and Child Health Team, family and individual therapy as a private clinician at headspace Campbelltown: primary mental health care service for young people aged 12 to 25 years. At Thrive, Bernadette specialises in relationship difficulties in couples and families, grief and loss, parenting difficulties, children and adolescents, co-parenting coaching, parenting strategies for families experiencing difficulties, and trauma.
