Bernadette O’Connor
Bernadette O’Connor, the principal of Thrive, is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and an Individual, Couple and Family Therapist with a Bachelor degree in Social Work from Western Sydney University and a Masters degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of New South Wales. Bernadette is a guest lecturer at Western Sydney University teaching Family Therapy skills to post-graduate students.
Bernadette has more than 17 years experience working with children and families in fields such as drug and alcohol, NSW Health for the Women and Child Health Team, family and individual therapy as a private clinician at headspace Campbelltown: primary mental health care service for young people aged 12 to 25 years. At Thrive Bernadette specialises in relationship difficulties in couples and families, grief and loss, parenting difficulties, children and adolescents, co-parenting coaching, parenting strategies for families experiencing difficulties.
In addition, Bernadette is trained and qualified in Radical Exposure Tapping for people experiencing trauma and distress.
Jessica McCallum
Jessica is a Family Therapist and Social Worker with Bachelor degrees in Arts, Sociology and Social Work, and a Masters degree in Couple and Family Therapy. Jessica is a lecturer at the Australian Catholic University teaching subjects from the Undergraduate and Masters Social Work degrees. Jessica has more than 12 years experience workng with children and their families. Jessica specialises in behavioural therapy and children with disablities and has worked in areas of Family and Community Services, NSW Health Disability Specialist Unit and currently in Foster Care working with parents and carers providing intensive behavioural therapy. Jessica also provides grief and loss therapy and couple therapy.
